Hi there;
I remember my Lithuanian gramma and my mother making these in a giant crock when I was a kid. I’m SO happy to have the recipe! Now I’ll have an excuse to take the umbrellas out of the crock. I do have one question though: As much as I too love salty things, I cannot eat them anymore. Do you think the pickling process would still work if I cut the salt way back or leave it out altogether? I know they won’t taste the same, but I don’t care, I miss pickles!

The salt is the preservative. If u cut that down, I think you increase the Chance of contamination. or spoilage
